What can I expect from the 30+ social programme?

“Catt

Catt is the General English social programme organiser. She knows the local area as she was born locally, so she always organises activities to the best, most interesting places around the city. She has experience working with many different students from lots of different backgrounds.

Catt can be found in the social hub, our student dedicated 2nd-floor zone. Where students can grab a coffee between classes, catch up with friends, or meet up before social activities.

“social

Neil and Michael are both teachers and Executive social programme organisers. They specialise in organising social activities which appeal to 30+ / Executive students. Just like the General English social programme, the Exectuive social programme is full and varied. However, the Executive social programme is only available to Executive students or 30+ students.

Do you have any questions about the 30+ social programme? Is there something you would like to do while you visit the UK? Get in touch with Catt, she will be very happy to answer any of your questions. Catt can be contacted at [email protected].

What can I expect from the 30+ social programme?

On the 30+ course, students have the excellent opportunity to join in both the Executive and the General English social programme. We have a large number of enjoyable and interesting activities that you can participate in during your time at LSI/IH Portsmouth.

Activities include joining the Executive students for ‘Welcome Drinks’ every Monday – this is a fantastic way to practice your English speaking skills and meet new people on your first day. While on the General English programme, on Mondays, there is the chance to join the teachers and other students for a game of football in the evening.

Other activities during the week include Conversation Club with one of our brilliant teachers, tours of Old Portsmouth where you can learn interesting facts about our city renowned for its history, along with Salsa lessons at a local Irish club. Along with these activities, there is also the option to go for dinners in the evening, visit Portsmouth’s Historic dockyard and enjoy local attractions (cinema nights, tea tasting, bowling).

In addition to weekday activities, the social programme offers Saturday excursions to other cities. These cities include London, Brighton, Arundel, Bath, Oxford, Winchester and many more. All trips include excellent cultural experiences as well as free time for you to explore the city at your own pace, all whilst improving your English speaking skills.
