There are three main General English courses at LSI/IH Portsmouth to suit different types of learners, click a course below to find out more about it and choose the perfect course for you to improve your English.
Full-time intensive General English
Our General English Course focuses largely on grammar in the morning class and skills, such as speaking and listening, as well as everyday English, in the afternoon classes. Throughout the day you will have the opportunity to widen your vocabulary and improve your pronunciation and speaking skills. Click here to find out more.
General English plus Business English
This course gives you the opportunity to combine English for day-to-day communication with specific English skills you need at work.
The programme is divided into two parts: you would spend half of your day in a General English Group and the other half day in a Small Business Group. Click here to find out more.
English Courses for Adults over 30
This programme is specially for adults over 30. It’s very flexible and consists of core morning classes with optional afternoon electives, so you can choose the course that best suits you, your language needs and your personal preferences. Click here to find out more.
Accommodation:
Looking for somewhere to stay? We offer two types of accommodation, either living with a local English speaking homestay family or living with other LSI/IH Portsmouth students in our nearby self-catering accommodation. Find out more and choose the accommodation which works for you!
Social Programme:
Do you want to make new friends and practice your English communication skills in a social setting? The LSI/IH Portsmouth Social Programme is full, varied, and fun! It is always changing and is tailored to meet the needs of all students.
